It is the office policy that patients who have not received the results of their routine laboratory tests within a reasonable amount of time (usually 7-10 days) should call us for the results. Patients are NOT to assume that their laboratories are normal if they do not hear from us. While we do everything we can to manage laboratory results carefully there are many people and machines involved before a final report is delivered from the lab to our physician. We have a great deal of experience in dealing with reference laboratories and choose our affiliate laboratories with the utmost care. Nevertheless, at each stage of communication there is some possibility of error. Unless your physician instructs you differently, if you do not hear from us within ten days about your laboratory results please call for them.
